Don’t know which way to go? Look up. God put things in your soul. Things you’re passionate about. Things you’re good at. I mean things you’re really and truly good at. He’s given you talents and gifts from before you were born. He planted those seeds within you and heightened your desire to pursue them. Your need to have those ideas come to fruition can no longer be contained. He’s grown those seeds within you and now that they’ve bloomed, it’s up to you to unleash your brilliance for all to see and enjoy.
You know you want to do it. You can feel it in your bones. You have ideas swimming around in your head, flapping and splashing and doing laps in your brain. You can do it. You can do this. You know you can. I know you can. And you know how. You want to step out in faith but yet you don’t. Why?
Fear sticks its nosey head into your head. It makes you doubt yourself and your abilities. It tells you that you have things to do that are more pressing and more concrete than the wild daydreams you stifle everyday. You have job security and health benefits that allows you to pay your bills and stay healthy. So you hold back. And you hold off. You continue to smother those talents that the Almighty instilled within you. You really don’t want to face plant into unknown waters and you’re not sure you’ll make it.
Don’t want to dive right in? Dip your toes in it first. Go slow. Test the waters. If the water is too cold, pull back. Go slower. But go just the same. I’m not a swimmer. I can’t even float. But I dip my toes here and there, every now and then. Tip toeing may take longer, but at least I’m going. I’m trying something. If no one tries, there’s no progress anywhere. The world would be stagnant and stale. So, I’ll dip my toes. Will you?
You see those dots in front of you? Connect them. They’re God’s stepping stones to your vision. A guide to your dream. That talent can no longer be contained within you. It’s bursting at the seams waiting for you to unleash it. That open door you think is for you, peek through the crack and see if there’s a dot in there to connect. Step on it. That window that was tightly shut now, for some Godly reason, is open a crack. Peer through. Is that a dot waiting for you? Waiting there for you to draw a line to? Do it. Before you know it, the lines you’ve drawn have outlined the very special vision you’ve been stifling. The vision God birthed you with.
We all have these gifts and talents to share. We all do. They come second nature to us. Can you imagine a world where each person excels because the gifts He gave us were magnified and realized? A world where we immerse ourselves completely in the passions that excites us and we’re able to make a living doing them? Oh, how joyous we would be. Oh how joyous He would be.
Why do you think He put them in you in the first place? For His joy and His will.
So I say, dip your toes and connect the dots. He’s waiting.
