Jesus was a actual man that walked and lived on this earth. He bled like we do. He had fears like we do. He felt pain like we do. He had a family like we do. And he loved. He’s still loving. He may have physically died but He is supernaturally and wonderfully alive.
Have you ever been through some really tough times? I mean times where the fetal position in your bed was the only image rolling around in your head. Where everyday conversations sounded muffled like the adults in the Charlie Brown cartoons? Tough times where food and sunshine had no business existing in the world? You know what I mean don’t you?
Then somehow, someway, deep down inside of the very pit of despair that caused you to retreat into yourself, you found a way to sit up. To take a sip of water. To go pee. To peek between the blinds and glimpse daylight.
That was Him lifting your head from under the piles of blankets you were buried under. That was Him stirring you back to life so that the evil one who wants to keep you down doesn’t gain another victory and steal another soldier. That was Him. That was Jesus carrying you out of the war. That was Him leading you out of the trenches and off the battlefield and into the sunlight. That was Him. Can you feel Him? Can you smell Him? Lean on Him. Surround yourself in Him. He is real. He loves you. He is alive!
