HIS ARMOR

Every morning when I wake up, I put on His armor. Well, maybe not every morning, even though I should. Sometimes I forget. His armor is never too heavy, and it isn’t cumbersome at all. But it’s so very necessary before I start my day. It costs nothing and it matches every single outfit in my closet. It doesn’t make me too hot or keep me too cool. It’s actually quite perfect. Here’s how you can stand firm in the Lord as you go about your day, and wear your armor too;

First of all, put on the belt of truth which is buckled around your waist. We are all in God’s army. We are all His soldiers. Every time you overcome and defeat something that’s thrown your way, you get a little bit stronger. We get stronger in the Spirit each and every day. I’m a big girl in God’s army now and I have to wear big girl pants, so I need something to hold me up. I mean them up. My pants that is. Put on the belt of truth. Be true and just in your walk to draw closer to Him. He will protect you.

Next, stand firm with the breastplate of righteousness in place. His breastplate is bullet proof, arrow proof, and devil proof. I am well protected when I put this on. I am a child of God and so are you. We are both righteous in the eyes of the Lord for we abide by His ways. He protects His righteous so we must wear this always. No thing and no one can harm us if we have this on!

Then, make sure your feet are fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. Ah . . . peace. Did you know that if you dwell in the house of the Lord, you will forever find peace? You see . . . you can be in a whirlwind of problems, debt, health issues and whatever else, but if you stand on the rock of Jesus, nothing . . . I mean nothing can shake you. Your worst enemy can move in next door and you will not be shaken. Of course, we are human and when mud is slung our way, naturally we react. But, get that peace back as quickly as you can. You’re in God’s army now and He needs you. Step into the peace that is in His house.

In addition to all of this, you must take up the shield of faith which can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. that son of a gun sucks. he and his minions are no joke. they poke and prod and try to enter your soul, causing chaos and havoc . . . but don’t you let them! Don’t you let them have access to you! Not to your mind, not to your psyche, and not to your soul. Close up all of the holes in your soul so anything that comes at you, or against you, and anything at all that is not of God, will by repelled. And all the flaming arrows that are meant to hurt you and throw you off your axis, they will all be doused by the shield of faith you so diligently and expertly wield in front of you. Keep the faith in all matters that plague you and He will do the rest.

Take the helmet of salvation. Protect your mind people. This is where most of our battles occur. In our minds. Protect yours from the wiles of the enemy daily, hourly, and every single minute of the day. You are precious. Your mind, body and soul is so, so precious to Jesus. But that clown the evil one . . . he wants a piece of you too. Don’t give it to him. Kick him out when doubt and confusion enter your mindspace. Confusion is not of God. Close down that battlefield and block dark thoughts. Take up the helmet of salvation and wear it well. Wear this and the Lord will save you. He is your salvation and your refuge. Take cover in Him.

Lastly, take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Ever fought a battle? Physically, mentally, psychologically, spiritually, financially, legally, socially and all the other lys? We all have. On a regular. The word of God is the Bible. Wield it like a weapon. It is powerful. Throw it at your demons. Shove it in satan’s face. Read it out loud and proud as you walk through your house and reclaim all that was stolen from you. I sure did! Don’t have a Bible handy? No worries! Just say any Bible verse or sing any worship song or snippet of a song or Bible verse that you can recall. Mix them up if you if you can’t remember word for word. Or, simply say Jesus. Jesus. Whisper His name if you must. But say it. And as you do, evil will be cast out. Did you know that the devil has to flee when he hears Jesus’ name? Trust me. Try it. I did.

And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. Talk to God. Tell him how much you love Him. How much you depend on Him. How much He means to you. Talk to Him as you would a friend. He is your friend. Cry as you speak to Him. Be pissed when you talk to Him. It’s OK. He already knows you more than you know yourself. You think He doesn’t know that you’re pissed. Tired. Hurt. Abandoned. Feeling lost or betrayed. You think He doesn’t know you want to curse but you won’t just because you’re talking to Him. He knows. He knew before you knew. Duh . . . He’s God. Just remember, you can pray and request all you want but ultimately, it is His will that matters. Not yours. Not mine. Not your boss’ will, your kid’s will or your parent’s will. It’s always about His will. So pray and request away. He’s listening.

You don’t believe me . . . that there really is armor that protects us all? Read Ephesians chapter 6 verses 10-18 in the Bible. It’s all right there.

Welp, now that you’ve got your outerwear on to protect the heck out of you, go share it. And tell those who will listen that it’s free for the wearing.
